Celindar Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Celindar, a local-first calendar and task planner developed by Idion, handles information. It applies to the Celindar iOS app, not to other Idion products.

Information stored by Celindar

Celindar stores on your device the tasks, categories, notes, recurrence and reminder rules, preferences, widget data, wallpaper settings, and locally generated calendar caches needed for the app to work.

If you connect Google Calendar, Celindar stores your Google account identifier, email address, display name, calendar metadata, visible-calendar choices, and a bounded cache of events on your device. OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Celindar sends Google requests directly from your device to Google APIs.

What we do not collect

Idion does not operate a Celindar analytics, advertising, task-sync, or account service and does not receive your tasks, calendar events, Google credentials, or wallpaper. Celindar does not collect contacts, location, camera or microphone data, advertising identifiers, health information, payment details, or biometric data.

Celindar contains no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDK. If this changes, we will update this policy before the change ships.

Photo Library access

Celindar requests Photo Library access only when you choose a wallpaper. It reads only the item you select, copies it to Celindar's private App Group container for wallpaper rendering and colour matching, and does not scan, index, upload, or otherwise access your library in the background. Declining access leaves every feature except photo wallpaper unavailable.

Local reminders

Celindar reminders are local notifications scheduled and delivered by your device. There is no push token, notification server, or reminder data sent to Idion. Permission is requested when you choose a reminder, never for marketing, and can be withdrawn in app settings or iOS Settings.

How information is used

Information stored by Celindar is used on your device to show and manage tasks, calendars, reminders, widgets, backups, and wallpaper images. Google user data is used only to provide the calendar features you request.

Apple and Google services

Apple processes information under its own policies when you use iOS permissions, EventKit, Keychain, widgets, Shortcuts, or the share sheet. Google processes information under its own policies when you voluntarily connect Google Calendar.

Google data is not sold, used for advertising, transferred to data brokers, or used to train generalized artificial-intelligence models. Idion does not read it unless you deliberately provide it in a support request. Celindar's use of Google data is limited to the user-facing calendar features described here.

Security

Celindar keeps its task database in the iOS App Group container and Google OAuth tokens in the iOS Keychain. Requests to Google APIs use HTTPS. No security measure is perfect, but Idion does not maintain a Celindar server containing this information.

Retention and deletion

On-device Celindar data remains until you remove it in the app, restore a backup, or delete the app. Disconnecting Google Calendar requests token revocation and deletes the local token, account details, calendar metadata, sync state, and cached Google events. You can also revoke access in your Google Account.

Backups are created only when you request them and are sent to a destination you select in the iOS share sheet. They exclude Google accounts, tokens, external calendar events, and wallpaper photo paths.

International transfers

Idion does not receive or transfer Celindar task or calendar data. If you connect Google Calendar, your device communicates directly with Google, whose processing and international transfers are governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

You control the information Celindar stores locally: edit or delete tasks in the app, disconnect Google, export a portable backup, or delete the app. For privacy questions or assistance exercising applicable rights, contact us through the Contact page. Because Idion does not hold a Celindar account database, it cannot retrieve or erase data that remains only on your device.

Children's privacy

Celindar is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children through a Celindar service. If you believe a child has provided us information in a support request, contact us so we can remove it.

Changes

We will update this policy and its last-updated date before changing the practices described here. For a material change to Google user-data use, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.
