The app and cookies

Hookio is a mobile app, not a website, and it does not use cookies.

What is stored on your device

Hookio stores a good deal on your device on purpose, because the app is built to work with no connection at all: your session so you are not asked to sign in every time, your appearance choice, your terminology setting, the images waiting in the import tray, and your whole shelf with its verdicts, row positions, notes and photos.

This stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. If you have an account, the same content also exists on our side so it can reach a second device.

Our website

Our website uses only the cookies needed for the site to function. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

No advertising and no tracking

Hookio contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK, and no advertising identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not build an advertising profile, and there is nothing here to opt out of because there is nothing collecting it.

Usage events stay in our own database, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Clearing it

You can clear everything Hookio has stored locally by deleting the app. Be aware that if you have no account, that also removes your shelf, your verdicts and your row positions, because with no account they exist only on that device.

Deleting your account removes what we hold on our side, as described on our Data Deletion page.

If this changes

If we ever add a technology that tracks you, we will update this page before that change ships, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it.
