How to ask

You can delete your data from inside Hookio, in Settings, within three taps of your shelf. That is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

If you cannot reach the app, write to [email protected] from the address on the account, saying whether you want everything deleted or only part of it.

What is deleted

Deleting removes your account record, your email address, your whole shelf and the anonymous usage events tied to your account. The shelf means every pattern you imported and the images or document behind it, every verdict and every flag, every project and the row you were on, every per-row note, every photo you attached to a row, and every stash entry you logged.

The confirmation screen in the app lists these in your own counts before you confirm. Once it is done we cannot recover any of it, and we cannot restore it if you sign up again with the same address.

Deleting one thing, or all of it

You can delete individual items without closing your account: removing one pattern, one project, one note or one photo leaves everything else in place. Deleting a pattern removes its verdict, its row position, its notes and its photos with it, and the confirmation says so. Closing the account removes all of it.

If you only want to stop paying and keep your shelf, cancelling a subscription is enough on its own and deletes nothing. Cancelling leaves every checked pattern readable and every project at the row you left it on.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription belongs to your store account rather than to us. When one is active, the confirmation in the app says so and gives you the path to cancel it first.

What may be kept

We may keep a limited amount of information after deletion where the law requires it, for example records of a transaction that tax law obliges us to hold. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, so purchase records also sit with them under their own retention rules, and deleting your Hookio account does not reach those.

Anything we keep is kept only for that purpose and for no longer than necessary.

What happens next

In-app deletion happens immediately, and the app returns to a first launch with a fresh anonymous session on that device. An emailed request is acknowledged within a few business days and completed within the timeframe the law where you live requires, and in any case within a reasonable time. We will tell you when it is done.
