Ipsimo Account Deletion
Ipsimo Account Deletion
Last updated August 30, 2026
Your right to erasure
You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live this may be a legal right, and we honour the request either way.
How to request it
Delete your account in Ipsimo under Settings, three taps from the Settings screen, or write to [email protected] from the address on the account. Our Data Deletion page describes exactly what each route removes.
Checking it is you
If you write to us rather than using the app, we need to be reasonably sure the request comes from the account holder. Usually the request arriving from the account's own email address is enough. If it does not, we may ask one further question, and we will not ask for more information than the check needs.
What is deleted
Your account record, your email address, every saved recipe with its lines, chips, gaps and sources, your collections, your "made it" marks, and the usage events tied to your account. The app names the exact recipe count in the confirmation and asks you to type the word delete. Deletion is permanent and we cannot undo it.
What is retained
Only what the law requires us to keep, such as transaction records, and only for as long as that obligation lasts. Purchase records held by the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by their policies and are not ours to delete. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: that is done in the store's own subscription management, which the deletion screen links to directly.
How long it takes
Deleting in the app signs you out immediately and the data is erased permanently within 7 days. An emailed request is acknowledged within a few business days and completed within the period the applicable law sets, and in any case within a reasonable time.
Your other rights
Deletion is one of several rights you may have. You may also be able to access what we hold, correct it, export it in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. Our Privacy Policy has the detail, and [email protected] is where any of these requests should go.
