Ipsimo Terms of Use

Licence and scope

These Terms of Use are the end-user licence agreement between you and Idion for the Ipsimo app. By downloading or using Ipsimo, you accept them.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Ipsimo for your own use. If you obtained Ipsimo from the Apple App Store, this licence is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and is subject to the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including any permitted family sharing. If you obtained Ipsimo from Google Play, the equivalent Google Play terms apply.

You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute Ipsimo, or copy, modify, decompile, or reverse engineer it except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits. Our Acceptable Use Policy describes further behaviour that is not allowed.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live in order to use Ipsimo. If you are using it on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them.

Accounts

You can use Ipsimo without an account. Saving recipes, cook mode, collections, the recipe card, subscribing and restoring a purchase are all reachable without one, and an anonymous library lives on the phone it was made on.

If you create an account, it is an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping access to it secure, and for what happens under it. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used in breach of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. You can delete your own account at any time from inside the app, as described on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, which is managed by the store you bought it from.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Ipsimo lawfully and as intended. Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out what is not allowed, and it forms part of these terms.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions about Ipsimo, we may use them without obligation to you. This does not affect your rights in anything else you create.

What the app reads, and what it does not claim

Ipsimo uses AI to read the ingredients and steps present in the material you share with it, and to name the caption, on-screen text or frame each line came from. That reading is automatic and it can be incomplete or wrong. Where the model cannot read something, the app shows a gap rather than filling it, and you can correct any line yourself.

What Ipsimo returns is not a recipe of our authorship, it is not professional, dietary or nutritional advice of any kind, and decisions about what you cook and eat remain yours. Recipes belong to the people who wrote them: Ipsimo saves what you chose to capture into your own private library and credits the original creator by handle where the post carried one. You are responsible for respecting the rights of whoever created the content you capture. See our AI Policy.

Subscriptions

Ipsimo offers an optional paid subscription. Ten saved recipes are free, for the life of the install, with no advertising at any tier. After that, saving new recipes requires a subscription. Prices, billing periods, and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy, and payment is taken by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms.

**Subscriptions renew automatically** at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in your device's subscription settings, reachable from Settings in the app, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending the period you have already paid for. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its own policy, except where the law where you live gives you a further right of withdrawal.

If a subscription ends or lapses, every recipe already in your library stays readable, cookable, editable and exportable. A subscription buys the eleventh save and every save after it, not the right to keep what is already yours.

The offer shown if you start to cancel

If you start to cancel, we may show you a single discounted offer once. You can decline it and continue to the store's own cancellation page directly. We do not show it more than once, we do not show it to people who are already on the discounted plan, and we do not interrupt or intercept the store's own cancellation flow. Subscribers already on the annual plan reach the store's subscription management on the first tap and are shown neither the reason survey nor the offer.

Intellectual property

Ipsimo, including its software, design, and content, belongs to Idion and its licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you a licence to use it, not any ownership of it. What you capture into your library, and any line you write or correct yourself, remains yours.

If a third party claims that Ipsimo infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple or Google, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.

Availability

We aim to keep Ipsimo available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Access may be limited by maintenance, by problems outside our control, or by your own device or connection. Saving a new recipe needs a connection; the library you already have does not.

Changes to the service

We may change, add, or remove features as Ipsimo develops. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you in advance.

Links out of the app

Ipsimo may link to services we do not operate, including the original post a recipe was captured from when you tap the creator's handle. We are not responsible for their content or their practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

Third-party terms

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo, or designated by the United States government as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Ipsimo. Apple and Google, and their subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Use and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Termination

You may stop using Ipsimo at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. Terms that by their nature should survive termination do so.

Disclaimers

Ipsimo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Idion is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Ipsimo. Our total liability for any claim relating to Ipsimo is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Resolving a dispute

If something goes wrong, contact us first at [email protected]. Most problems are resolved that way and it is faster for both of us.

If we cannot resolve it informally, the courts identified below have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

Governing law

Ipsimo is operated by Idion, based in Spain. These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.

Export compliance

You may not use or export Ipsimo except as permitted by the laws of Spain, the European Union, and the United States, and by the laws of the place where it was obtained.

App Store terms

If you downloaded Ipsimo from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the following also applies. These terms are an agreement between you and Idion only, not with Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for Ipsimo or its content.

Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Ipsimo. In the event Ipsimo fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple or Google, and they may refund the purchase price, if any, but that is their only warranty obligation, and any other claims, losses, or damages are our sole responsibility, not theirs.

Apple and Google are not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Ipsimo, including product liability claims, claims that Ipsimo fails to meet applicable legal or regulatory requirements, or claims under consumer protection law. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Maintenance and support for Ipsimo is our sole responsibility. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide it, and questions should be sent to the support address below.
