How Nailio uses AI
Nailio uses Google Gemini to generate feedback on your interview answers. The model runs on our servers, never on your device, and our access key is never included in the app. What you submit is sent for the sole purpose of producing your result.
The model is given a specific brief. It is told it is an interview coach, and the whole of its instruction is about interview performance: whether an answer has real substance, whether it is structured, how it was delivered, and how composed it stayed under pressure. That brief is what keeps it on subject.
It is not a general assistant, and it is not a substitute for one. Nailio has no browser, so the model cannot look anything up, and nothing it writes reaches anyone but you. If you ask the Coach something outside interviews, treat the answer as what it is: a coaching model talking outside the job it was written for.
Informational only
Everything the AI produces is informational. It is a starting point for your own judgement, not a verdict and not professional advice. If a result matters to a decision with real consequences, check it against a person who knows your situation.
You stay in charge
You stay in charge. Nailio suggests, and you decide what to do about it. We do not use AI to take actions on your behalf, and there is no step in the app where a model's output is applied without you seeing it.
Automated decision-making
The feedback Nailio generates does not produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you, and we do not use it to profile you beyond producing the feedback itself. Nothing in the app scores you for a purpose outside the app.
**Nailio is a rehearsal tool, not a hiring tool.** No employer sees your practice, no score is shared with anyone, and nothing here is used to screen or rank you for a job.
What it gets wrong
AI-generated feedback can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. It can miss context that is obvious to you. It reflects patterns in the data the model was trained on, which do not represent everyone equally. Two runs on the same input can differ.
A real interviewer may want something different from what the model rewards. Treat a score as one reading of one answer, not as a prediction of how an interview will go.
Transcription
When you record an answer, it is transcribed automatically before it is analysed. Transcription is imperfect: accents, background noise, and unusual vocabulary all reduce accuracy, and the analysis inherits any error the transcript introduced. The transcript is shown to you alongside the feedback so you can see what the model actually heard.
Privacy
What you submit is sent to the model provider only to generate your result. It is not used to train their systems, and we do not send your email address or account identifiers with it. Your recording is discarded after it is analysed and is never stored. Our Privacy Policy describes what we keep afterwards and for how long.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that Nailio is an expert, that it replaces a professional, or that its results are guaranteed. It does not promise you a job or an offer. It is a practice and feedback tool, and it is useful in proportion to how honestly it is described.
Changes over time
We change the prompts and the models behind Nailio as better ones become available, which means results can shift over time. Where a change materially alters what the app tells you, we will say so in the app rather than let it change silently.
