Nailio Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Nailio, an AI interview coaching app developed by Idion, collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies specifically to the Nailio app on iOS and Android, not to other Idion products.

By using Nailio, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

What we collect

An anonymous session identifier. Nailio creates one the first time you open the app, before you are asked for anything, so your practice is saved on this device from the first answer.

Your email address, if you create an account, or the private relay address Apple or Google provides when you sign in that way.

Your interview profile: the display name you choose, the role you are targeting, your seniority, your industry, the company you named as a target if you gave one, the interview types you want to prepare for, the goal you set, and what you told us worries you most, together with the baseline scores from your first assessment.

Anything you paste into a custom interview, including a job description, so the questions can be written against it.

Your mock interviews and answers: the mode you picked, the question Nailio asked, the **transcript** of the answer you spoke, the scores for content, structure, communication and confidence, the grade and headline, the strengths and fixes, the filler words counted, your speaking rate, and the model answer generated for you.

Your messages to and from the Coach chat.

Anonymous usage events: which screens you reach and which actions you take, stored as an event type and its properties in our own database.

Your subscription status, received from our subscription management provider.

This is the complete list of what Nailio collects today. If that changes as the app grows, this policy will be updated first, and the "last updated" date above will reflect it.

What we do not collect

To be specific rather than leave this to inference: **Nailio does not store your audio recordings.** A recording is sent for analysis, transcribed and scored in flight, and discarded. It is never written to our database or to any file store, so there is no library of your voice anywhere in this product.

Nailio also does not collect your CV or résumé unless you paste it into the app yourself, and it never contacts an employer, a recruiter, or anyone else on your behalf. It does not collect health or medical records, your government-issued identification, your contacts, your precise or approximate location, advertising identifiers, or biometric data. We do not collect or store your payment card, bank, or other financial account details.

If any of this changes in a future version of the app, we will update this policy before that change ships, not after.

Accounts and identifiers

Nailio can be used without an account. When you start without signing in, the only identifier we hold is an anonymous session id that lets your progress persist on this device.

If you later create an account, we collect your email address, or the private relay address provided by Apple or Google if you sign in that way. Creating an account upgrades your existing anonymous session rather than replacing it, so nothing you have already done is lost. Your email address is used to sign you in and to contact you about the service. It is not used for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

Microphone access

Nailio requests access to your device's microphone so it can record what you say and analyse it.

The microphone is never activated automatically or in the background. It is only used when you start a recording yourself, and it stops when that recording ends. If you decline this permission, you can still use the rest of Nailio; only the features that require recording will be unavailable.

Recordings and transcripts

Your recording is sent to our servers, transcribed and analysed there, and then discarded. **We do not store the audio.** What is kept is the transcript and the scores, saved with your account so you can see your history.

The transcript and the analysis are yours: they are visible only to you, are never used to train any third party's model, are never shared with an employer or a recruiter, and are deleted when you delete the answer or your account.

Practice reminders

If you turn on practice reminders, they are scheduled **on your device** by the operating system. Nailio does not register a push token, does not operate a notification server, and nothing about your reminders leaves your phone.

We ask for notification permission in context, after you have used the app, never on first launch. Reminders fire only on the schedule you chose, and we do not use this channel for marketing or promotional messages. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings at any time.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to provide Nailio's core features and to personalize what you see. We do not use your information for purposes beyond operating and improving Nailio, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Usage analytics

We record which screens you reach and which actions you take, so we can see where the app is confusing and fix it. These events are stored in our own database. **We do not use any third-party analytics service and we do not use any advertising service**, so this information is not shared with anyone and is not combined with data from other apps.

AI processing

To generate feedback, Nailio sends the content you submit to Google Gemini for processing. This happens on our servers, not on your device, and our access key is never included in the app.

The content is sent for the sole purpose of generating your result and is not used to train the model provider's systems. We do not send your email address or account identifiers with it.

AI-generated feedback

Nailio uses your interview practice data to generate feedback and insights through AI. These are generated from the information described above and are used only to support your experience in the app. See our AI Policy for how this works and what its limits are.

Automated decision-making

Nailio's AI-generated feedback is designed to inform and support your own decisions. It does not make decisions about you that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you, and it is not used for any form of automated profiling beyond providing the feedback described in this policy.

Nailio scores your practice answers so you can improve them. **It is not a hiring tool.** Nothing it produces is sent to an employer, and no result from it is used to screen, rank, or decide anything about you outside this app.

Subscriptions and payments

If you subscribe, we collect your subscription status through our subscription management provider. Payment itself is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. **We never see or store your payment card details.**

Third-party services

We rely on a limited number of infrastructure providers to operate Nailio. These process information on our behalf, under confidentiality and data protection commitments, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us.

We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including encrypting data in transit and restricting access so that your records are readable only by your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but security is a priority in how we build Nailio, not an afterthought.

If we become aware of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you and take appropriate action as required by applicable law.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Nailio's features. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information as described on our Data Deletion page, except where retention is required by law or for the limited purposes described there.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection, consistent with applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, export it in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection law, you may have additional or more specific rights under that law. These are not reduced by anything in this policy.

Children's privacy

Nailio is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing on their own behalf. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Nailio evolves. We will update the "last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
