How to permanently delete your Speaklio account under the GDPR right to erasure.
Last updated July 14, 2026
Under Article 17 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data. This page explains how to permanently delete your entire Speaklio account — the app developed by Scriptia Labs — and everything associated with it, including your voice recordings and transcripts. To delete only specific data instead, see our Data Deletion page.
To permanently delete your Speaklio account, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Use the subject line "Speaklio account deletion request" and state that you want your account and all associated data erased.
This is the same channel used for data deletion requests — the difference is that account deletion removes your entire account rather than only selected data.
To protect your account, we only act on deletion requests we can verify. Please send your request from the email address registered to your Speaklio account. If we cannot confirm that the request comes from the account holder, we may ask for additional confirmation before proceeding.
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, voice recordings, transcripts, practice sessions, scores, coaching conversations, progress history, preferences, and any other personal data linked to your account. Once deletion is complete, this data cannot be recovered.
We may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it — for example, basic subscription and payment records required by the app store or tax rules — or where it is necessary for legitimate purposes such as security, fraud prevention, or resolving disputes. Any retained data is kept only for as long as the applicable legal retention period requires — typically no more than 90 days after your request, unless a specific legal obligation requires longer — and is not used for any other purpose.
We aim to complete verified account deletion requests within 30 days, and in any case within one month of receiving your request, as required by the GDPR. If your request is particularly complex, we may extend this by up to two further months and will let you know if that happens.
Beyond erasure, the GDPR also gives you the right to access, rectify, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
