How the Speaklio app collects, uses, and protects your information, including your voice recordings.
Last updated July 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Speaklio, an AI public-speaking coach developed by Scriptia Labs, collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies specifically to the Speaklio app on iOS, Android, and the web, not to other Scriptia Labs products.
Because Speaklio works by having you speak out loud, this policy pays particular attention to how your voice recordings and transcripts are handled. By using Speaklio, you agree to the practices described here.
To create and manage your account, we collect your email address and, where applicable, the authentication information used to sign in. Speaklio supports anonymous-first sign-in, so you can begin before providing an email.
To personalize coaching, we collect the profile you provide during onboarding: your name, role or title, seniority, industry, the high-stakes moments that matter to you, and your goals.
To provide the core experience, we collect the content you generate while practicing: the audio of your spoken answers, transcripts of that audio, the scenarios you practice, your scores, coaching conversations, and your progress over time, along with your app preferences and settings.
To be specific rather than leave this to inference: Speaklio does not collect health or medical records, government-issued identification, your contacts, precise or approximate location, camera or photo-library content, advertising identifiers, or biometric identifiers. We do not use your voice to identify you biometrically; audio is used to coach your speaking, not to recognize who you are.
If any of this changes in a future version of the app, we will update this policy before that change ships, not after.
Speaklio requests access to your device's microphone so you can answer practice questions out loud, which is the core of how the app works.
The microphone is never activated automatically or in the background. It is only used when you take an action that specifically calls for it, such as tapping the record button to answer a question. If you decline this permission, you can still browse scenarios and use the text-based Coach, but the spoken Hot Seat rehearsal will be unavailable.
When you answer a question out loud, Speaklio records that audio and produces a transcript so it can analyze what you said and how you said it. Recordings and transcripts are tied to your account and used to generate your feedback, scores, and progress.
You can delete individual sessions where the app provides that option, or delete your whole account and its recordings as described in our Data Deletion page. We do not sell your recordings, and we do not use them to build advertising profiles.
We use the information above to provide Speaklio's core features: role-playing scenarios, analyzing your spoken answers, generating scores and coaching feedback, and tracking your executive-presence progress over time. We also use aggregated, de-identified usage information to understand what is working and to improve the product.
We do not use your information for purposes beyond operating and improving Speaklio, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Speaklio uses AI models, including Google Gemini, to transcribe and analyze your spoken answers and to power the coaching conversation. Your audio and/or transcript is sent to this model provider server-side for the sole purpose of generating your feedback, and is processed under that provider’s commitments to us.
We are deliberate about what is sent: only what is needed to produce your coaching feedback. See our AI Policy for more detail on how the AI works and its limitations.
Speaklio offers a paid plan, Speaklio Pro. Payments and subscription management are handled by the app stores and our payments provider (RevenueCat), not by us directly. We receive subscription status (for example, whether your Pro plan is active) so we can unlock the right features, but we do not collect or store your full card or banking details.
Billing terms, prices, and cancellation are presented at the point of purchase and are also governed by the store you purchased through.
We rely on a limited number of infrastructure and service providers — for example, cloud hosting and databases, authentication, the AI model provider described above, and our payments provider — to operate Speaklio. These providers process information on our behalf, under confidentiality and data protection commitments, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us.
We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Speaklio’s AI-generated scores and coaching feedback are designed to inform and support your own preparation — they do not make decisions about you that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you, and they are not used to evaluate you for employment, credit, or any purpose beyond the coaching feedback described in this policy.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including your recordings, from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including encrypting data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but security is a priority in how we build Speaklio, not an afterthought — see our Security page for more detail.
If we become aware of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you and take appropriate action as required by applicable law.
We retain your information, including recordings and transcripts, for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Speaklio’s features. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information as described in our Data Deletion page, except where retention is required by law or for the limited purposes described there.
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the AI and infrastructure providers we use. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection, consistent with applicable data protection law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, export it in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection law, you may have additional or more specific rights under that law — these are not reduced by anything in this policy.
See our Data Deletion page to request deletion, or contact us using the details on our Contact page for any other request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and in any case within a reasonable time.
Speaklio is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing on their own behalf. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy as Speaklio evolves. We’ll update the "last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes, we’ll make a reasonable effort to notify you.
Questions about this policy can be sent to our privacy team — see our Contact page for details.
