A mobile app, not a website

Ipsimo is a mobile app, not a website, and it does not use cookies.

What is stored on your device

It does store data locally on your device so it can work: your session so you are not asked to sign in every time, your theme preference, and your saved recipes with their chips, their gaps and the captions and frames behind them, so the library, search and cook mode all work with no connection. This stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

One thing outlives deleting the app: the anonymous session identifier that your library belongs to when you have no account. That is what returns your recipes if you reinstall Ipsimo on the same phone. It is this app's own identifier, it reaches only our own database, and it is not used to track you anywhere else.

Our website

Our website uses only the cookies needed for the site to function. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

No advertising, no tracking

**Ipsimo contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK, and no advertising identifier.** There is no advertising anywhere in the app at any tier, free or paid. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not build an advertising profile, and there is nothing here to opt out of because there is nothing collecting it. That is also why Ipsimo never shows you a tracking permission prompt.

Usage events stay in our own database, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Managing it

You can clear everything Ipsimo has stored locally by deleting the app. Deleting your account removes what we hold on our side, as described on our Data Deletion page.

If this changes

If we ever add a technology that tracks you, we will update this page before that change ships, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it.
